Specification","description":"\u003cdiv class=\"sts-section\" id=\"toc__sec_1\" xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xhtml\"\u003e\n  \u003ch1 class=\"sts-sec-title\"\u003e1   Scope\u003c\/h1\u003e\n  \u003cdiv class=\"sts-p\"\u003eThis British Standard specifies requirements for recycled oxidation inhibited and uninhibited \u003cspan class=\"term\"\u003emineral insulating oils\u003c\/span\u003e, as delivered, for use in transformers, switchgear and similar electrical equipment in which oil is required as an insulant and\/or for heat transfer.\u003c\/div\u003e\n  \u003cdiv class=\"sts-p\"\u003eOils with and without \u003cspan class=\"term\"\u003eadditives\u003c\/span\u003e are within the scope of this standard.\u003c\/div\u003e\n  \u003cdiv class=\"sts-p\"\u003eThis standard does not differentiate between methods used to recycle used \u003cspan class=\"term\"\u003emineral insulating oil\u003c\/span\u003e, thus reclaimed or regenerated oil, \u003cspan class=\"term\"\u003ere-refined oil\u003c\/span\u003e, \u003cspan class=\"term\"\u003edechlorinated oil\u003c\/span\u003e and \u003cspan class=\"term\"\u003ereconditioned oil\u003c\/span\u003e are all considered \u003cspan class=\"term\"\u003erecycled oil\u003c\/span\u003e for the purposes of this standard.\u003c\/div\u003e\n  \u003cdiv class=\"sts-p\"\u003eThis standard does not apply to \u003cspan class=\"term\"\u003emineral insulating oils\u003c\/span\u003e used as impregnates in cables or capacitors, or to hydrocarbon insulating liquids obtained by synthesis.\u003c\/div\u003e\n  \u003cdiv class=\"sts-non-normative\"\u003e\n    \u003cp\u003e\n      \u003cspan class=\"sts-non-normative-note-label\"\u003eNOTE\u003c\/span\u003e Oils conforming to the requirements of this standard, and containing no \u003cspan class=\"term\"\u003eadditives\u003c\/span\u003e, are considered to be compatible with one another and can be mixed in any proportion.
